Body found behind N. Fulton school

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police are waiting on an autopsy report to determine how a young man died. He was found face down in a creek behind Taylor Road Middle School.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said it could be later Thursday or Friday before they release any information.

The body was found on a hiking trail, behind the school. Wednesday evening police cars, investigators and the Fulton County Medical Examiner searched for clues in a mysterious death.

Someone walking their dogs along the trail found the body face down, partially submerged in a creek. Investigators said the person was fully clothed and had a backpack.

Lt. Chris Beyers said they don't know how the person died, but they think they know who he is.

“It’s a young male, white male. We have an initial identification on him but we’re in the process of confirming  that right now so I can’t say much more about his identification until we do confirm it,” Beyers said.

Beyers said the area is a nature trail that zig-zags and borders along residential neighborhood.

Police also checked the records and have no reports of anyone missing that fits the description of the person they found.
