VIDEO: Atlanta police officers rescue dog tethered next to raging fire

ATLANTA — Dramatic video shows the moment Atlanta police officers rescued a dog that was tethered just feet from a raging fire.

Officers were called to a vehicle fire last weekend in northwest Atlanta and when they got to the scene, a witness said there was a dog on a leash tied to a tree dangerously close to the car that was engulfed in flames.

After a few minutes of work, officers were able to free the dog and get it to safety.

The police department posted the dramatic video on its Facebook page. Police said it was proud of the dog.

“We would also like to mention that we are proud of the dog, who maintained his composure and showed bravery throughout this ordeal allowing the officers to free him. We give him a 12/10. He’s a good boy.”
