Agnes Kim is in rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center.

ATLANTA — Agnes Kim, the UGA student who survived an April crash that killed four other women, is being transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta for brain injury rehabilitation.

The Shepherd Center says Kim suffered a severe brain injury in the April 27 accident in Oconee County.

Kim has been admitted to a program for patients who are semi-comatosed or minimally conscious.

The Brain Injury Unit, Disorders of Consciousness Program will monitor Kim's attention to her environment and work to prevent medical complications, maximize Kim's mobility and educate her family.

Kim's family says they are appreciative of the support from the University of Georgia community and the public.

Friends of Kim created a YouCaring.com page for messages of encouragement and to take donations to help cover medical costs.
