State senator's sister fatally shot at popular Atlanta bar

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified her as Taylor Hayden, 25, of Texas

Taylor Hayden is the sister of Minnesota state Sen. Jeff Hayden.


The shooting happened at The Anchor Down Grille & Lounge around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Espy said two groups of men were shooting at each other in the parking lot, and Taylor Hayden was hit.

She was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The senator said on Facebook that his sister had been caught in the crossfire between two gangs.

It is with a heavy heart that I report that my sister Taylor Hayden has been killed last night in Atlanta. She was caught in the crossfire of two rival gangs at a local nightclub. Please pray for my family,” Hayden wrote on his personal Facebook page.
