An Atlanta police officer was injured when he was hit by a car while chasing a suspect Sunday night.
Atlanta police said the officer responded to a fight between a man and a woman on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The fight was the result of a robbery, according to investigators.
When the officer tried to intervene, the man ran across the street. The officer chased him, and both were hit by a car.
The man who ran was caught by other officers. Atlanta police identified him as 30-year-old Xavier Reeves.
The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The driver who hit the officer and man stayed at the scene.
