54-year-old missing Atlanta man found safe

UPDATE: Michael Cannon’s sister told Channel 2 Action News that he has been found alive and is now being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 54-year-old man who hasn’t been seen in almost a week.

Michael Cannon, 54, was last seen at 37 Whatley St SE by his family on May 27. He is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

Cannon’s brother said he was released from Riverwood Behavioral Health Hospital Wednesday and placed in housing off Wadley Street.

Police checked with other people in complex, who said they last saw him sometime Thursday or Friday.

Cannon has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, according to his brother.
