Pedestrian hit, killed by cars on I-20

ATLANTA — Police said a man was hit and killed on I-20 Friday night.

Police said they responded around 7:30 to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on I-20 westbound at McDaniel Street.

According to police, the man, who appeared to be in his 50s, was walking in a lane of traffic when he was hit by two cars and ran over by a third. All three drivers stayed on the scene, police said.

The man died as a result of his injures.

Part of the interstate was shut down while police investigated.

Police said the man did not have a vehicle on the highway and they are trying to figure out how he got there.
