Metro Atlanta see heavy rain, wind from Irma

ATLANTA — What was once Hurricane Irma is now a depression and it is moving out of Georgia.

But it brought bands of heavy rain and wind to metro Atlanta on Monday.

Atlanta police said they started seeing flooding around Peachtree Creek and Nancy Creek as waters continue to rise with the constant rain from Irma.

Monahan added that later Tuesday the metro will be past the point of any additional damage from Irma.

The powerful winds gusts caused debris to fall from a building in downtown Atlanta, shutting down streets near Woodruff Park.
