Rain tapers off ... but another round is on the way

ATLANTA — Soaking rain and a big drop in temperatures arrives.

Severe Weather Team 2 tracked widespread rain moving through metro Atlanta Tuesday -- and the coldest temperatures, so far this season, that came right behind it.

Temperatures dipped to the mid 60s by 7 p.m.

Light to moderate rain continued into Tuesday night, with the heaviest rain passing down into middle Georgia. The rain has since tapered off, however, don't say goodbye to the wet weather just yet.

Another round of showers is expected overnight and early Wednesday.
