90-year-old missing Georgia veteran found safe

JACKSON COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: William Richard Whitted was found safe early Friday morning in Twiggs County.

Authorities are asking for help finding a missing 90-year-old man.

William Richard Whitted was reported missing by his family to the Commerce police department.

Whitted was last seen driving a blue Jeep Liberty with veterans tag DVB205.

The 90-year-old veteran is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 108 pounds, and has balding white hair. He was last seen in the Commerce area wearing blue pants and a long sleeved jacket on Wednesday.

His daughter said he has the early stages of dementia, diabetes, high blood pressure and may be disoriented.

Authorities told Whitted’s daughter that he may be traveling to Pigeon Forge or Tennessee.

Whitted is a beloved long-time employee at the local Walmart.
