• Arrest made in Marietta woman's murder


    MARIETTA, Ga. - Cobb County police say an arrest has been made in a murder on New Year's Eve.

    According to police, 26-year-old Sergio Vera-Lule, of Smyrna, was charged with murder in the death of Manju Gurung Poonmagar.

    Police say Poonmagar's car careened into a parked car at the Westminster Square apartments on Windy Hill Road, where she lived on Dec. 31. When officers arrived at the scene, they found in her the driver's seat with a gunshot wound. She later died.

    Neighbors described Poonmagar as "hardworking and honest."

    Vera-Lule was also charged with several counts of felony armed robbery, for robberies that he had committed in Marietta.
