• DeKalb fire leaves 7 families homeless


    DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Seven DeKalb County families were left homeless Friday after a fire in Clarkston destroyed several apartment units.

    The fire happened at the Brannon Hill Apartments on Brannon Hill Road, just off Memorial College Drive.

    Officials said none was hurt during the fire, but a firefighter received medical attention after complaining of dizziness.

    The Red Cross said it helped 36 people -- 18 adults and 18 children-- with lodging and food.
