    By: Severe Weather Team 2

ATLANTA - You will want to be weather-aware Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Right now, storms are moving through north Georgia.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued Tuesday night for parts of the north Georgia mountains. It has since expired.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz says damaging wind gusts are possible.

The temperature in Atlanta hit 100 degrees Tuesday afternoon, tying the record for the hottest day on the books on today's date, which was set in 2007.

Tuesday was also the first time since 2016 that metro Atlanta hit the triple digits and the hottest day in more than three years.

Between 1 and 3 a.m. Wednesday, the storms will move into metro Atlanta.

By Wednesday at noon, Nitz says, there will be a drying trend.
