• Aimee Copeland gets new bionic hand

ATLANTA - Aimee Copeland, the 25-year-old Gwinnett County woman who lost her hands and legs to a flesh-eating bacteria, is now getting used to a bionic hand.

Copeland's family sent Channel 2 Action News new video of Aimee's first attempts at using the hand.

Copeland is at Touch Bionics, a company in Ohio, which is fitting her with new hands.

Copeland contracted a rare infection in May after falling from a zip line and gashing her leg.

Doctors had to amputate both hands, her left leg and right foot. She spent three months in the hospital and a rehabilitation clinic before she was able to return home.
