• 8-year-old girl shot at party in Atlanta


    ATLANTA, Ga. - An 8-year-old girl is recovering after being shot Saturday night.

    Atlanta police said they responded to a call of a person shot in the 3000 block of Fairburn Road at about 8 p.m. The victim was an 8-year-old girl who had been shot in the shoulder.

    According to police, witnesses told them there was a party and people began shooting.

    Security guards on the scene described the suspects as two black males. One is described as being about 5 feet six inches tall, weighing 145 pounds and wearing a white T-shirt and blue basketball shorts.

    The men fled the scene in a white Nissan Altima, according to police.

    Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Atlanta police.
