5th suspect arrested in deadly jewelry store robbery

VILLA RICA, Ga. — Authorities have arrested the fifth suspect in a deadly robbery at a Villa Rica jewelry store.

U.S. Marshals arrested 23-year-old Bernard Hunt, of Atlanta, on Wednesday. Villa Rica police said he was turned over to them and is being held at the Carroll County Jail on murder and armed robbery charges.

Investigators said thieves entered Mobley Jewelry last month and began breaking glass display cases when the store owner confronted them. They said Mitch Mobley was gunned down as he tried to protect employees and his son.

Eric Billings, Raphael Rucker, Gregory Clifton and Cranford Phelps were previously arrested in the case on murder and armed robbery charges.
