• 4 plead guilty in beating death of ex-Marine

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Four men accused of beating a former Marine to death last year have accepted a plea agreement that will send each of them to jail for 20 years.

Tarell Secrest, Arthur Batchelor, Jason Hill and Sean Hall pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Zach Gamble. According to the agreement, announced Wednesday morning, they will all also serve 10 years’ probation for aggravated assault charges.

Gamble, 34, of Acworth, was beaten at a bachelor party at a Smyrna apartment complex in March 2012.

Police said the four men beat Gamble in the parking lot over an explicit text message. The morning after the beating, Gamble was hit by a taxi and the driver called 911.  He died two weeks later.

An autopsy showed Gamble died from several skull fractures.

Gamble left behind a 7-year-old son.
