3 killed in possible domestic violence shooting

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — A shooting has left three people dead outside of a fast-food restaurant in northwest Georgia.

A man, woman and 10-year-old child were shot late Thursday in the town of Varnell, about 100 miles northwest of Atlanta. Police say two people were shot before the shooter turned the gun on himself. Authorities think the shooting was the result of domestic violence.

The Whitfield County Sheriff's Department says the child was a student at Beaverdale Elementary. Witnesses say an estranged husband killed his wife, son and then himself.
