• 2 roofers hospitalized after lightning strike


    COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Two people were hospitalized after a lightning strike during a Cobb County storm.

    Authorities said a crew was working on the roof of a shopping complex at Gresham and Cobb Parkway in Marietta when a storm approached shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

    A loud lightning strike hit near the crew, immediately taking down one of the workers and injuring a second.

    Marietta police confirmed that a 19-year-old was taken off the roof unresponsive and transported to Kennestone Hospital. He is now in stable condition.

    Police said a second worker was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
