2 people shot in busy shopping and dining area, Cobb County police say

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police responded to a shooting Tuesday night in a busy shopping and dining area in Cobb County.

Cobb County police confirmed that two people were shot in the Akers Mills shopping area. Both people are stable, according to a department spokesperson.

Police are still working to confirm circumstances surrounding the shooting, but investigators say it may have started as the result of a fight.

This is at least the second shooting that Cobb police have investigated in the area in recent weeks. Two people, including a child, were shot in the Cumberland Mall parking lot earlier this month.
