NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Powder Springs police say they have made an arrest in the deadly shooting of a man and woman found in a car in a ditch.
Anthony and Catherine Costner were shot in their car Aug. 6 near 3790 Parks Drive. Their young daughter was found unharmed in the back seat of the car.
Authorities say Anthony was pronounced dead at the scene and Catherine later died at the hospital.
Investigators say Roy Hicks, 39, was arrested by US Marshals on August 8, and is charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of firearm by felon and cruelty to a child.
Hicks is suspected of firing the gunshots that led to the deaths of the Costner's. Hicks is recovering in a hospital after being shot during the crimes.
Demarco Thomas, 22, has also been arrested for his alleged role in this shooting. He is charged with conspiracy to commit a violation of the Georgia controlled subtsances act, concealing the death of another and hindering the apprehension of a felon.
Powder Springs police say the murder of the Costner's was not random, and th couple had planned to meet with Hicks.
Police are asking for the public's help in locating the vehicle Hicks and Thomas used the night of the murders.
The vehicle is described as a silver 2005 Cadillac SRX with the Georgia tag "PYA 9002".
