ATLANTA - Police will cite two men they say were shooting a rap video in the middle of a street when a driver hit them.

The car's windshield was broken in the crash. Both men were taken to the hospital but are expected to be OK.

Atlanta police said a group was on the Jackson Street Bridge shooting a video with the Atlanta skyline in the background around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Police say the men did not have permission to be filming in the middle of the street.

The men were dressed in dark clothing and the driver didn't see them, police said.

"They came out here to shoot I guess a final scene in a video that they were working on," Atlanta Police Department Capt. Reginald Moorman said.

Channel 2's Lauren Pozen spoke to neighbors, who said they are surprised this hasn't happened before.

“It is always packed people are setting up tripods over there and taking pictures," neighbor Mitchell Williford said, "but it’s packed down the whole line of the bridge especially during sunset time."

Williford said the two men should never have been in the street in the first place.

"There’s a big curve, there's a long sidewalk," Williford said. "You’re not supposed to be in the road. It’s a pretty big area too plenty of room for people to walk and have their own space."

Both men are stable and will be charged with “pedestrian in the roadway.”

The woman who was driving the car will not be charged, police said.
