Gwinnett Police: Women lured men into home invasion

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County police are investigating an early morning home invasion and shooting that left at least one person injured.

Officers told Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach that it unfolded at a home Worchester Lane near Durham Lane in unincorporated Lilburn.

Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Ritter said two men who live in the home met a pair of women at a nearby bar and invited them back to the house.

The women then called three men who arrived, burst into the home and robbed the two men and a third person who as also in the home.

One victim was shot in the shoulder and taken to the hospital and a second victim jumped from a second story window to escape, Ritter said.

Police said the two women stole the victim's car, but were stopped in DeKalb County by police. The three suspected robbers remain at large.

Crime scene investigators wrapped the yard in crime tape and focused their attention on a front door and a garage door, Gehlbach said.

Police later took the remaining two victims away in a police cruiser for questioning.
