• 1 dead after shooting at Smyrna home

    SMYRNA, Ga. - Police said one person was fatally shot inside a house near South Cobb Drive late Sunday night.

    The shooting happened at about 11 p.m. at a residence on Kennesaw Way in Smyrna.

    Witnesses off-camera told Channel 2's Darryn Moore the gunman knocked on the front door. Someone answered and said "We don't know you," then shut the door. Seconds later, witnesses said they heard about four gunshots and saw a gunman run from the side of the house.

    Police said several rounds pierced a bedroom wall, resulting in the death of one person. Another person inside the house was not hurt.

    Investigators were collecting evidence at the scene on Monday morning.

    Police have not released the victim's name, nor a description of the gunman.
