ATLANTA, Ga. — Investigators say an off-duty Atlanta police officer was carjacked Sunday morning near a donut shop in northeast Atlanta.

Investigators say a man pointed a gun at the officer about 3 a.m. when he was at a stoplight on North Avenue near Krispy Kreme.

He also took the officer's phone.

Investigators recovered the car on Freemont Street in southeast Atlanta.

They said the officer's gun was still inside.
