• Local Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

    COWETA COUNTY, Ga.,None - Friends and family are mourning the loss of a Coweta County soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.

    Private First Class Chad Coleman died after a roadside bomb hit his vehicle Friday, officials said.

    The 20-year-old is from Moreland and graduated from Newnan High School.

    Coleman was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Fort Campbell, Ky.

    He is survived by his mother and father.

    Another soldier, from Wisconsin, was also killed in the attack.
