From Robert Cobb, National Director, Community Hazard Mitigation at ISO:

"The revised ISO Fire Suppression Rating Schedule has not yet been implemented in  the state of Georgia. The 5 mile guideline has always been measured in road miles (not ‘as the crow flies’). The advent of GPS technology has made measuring the distance more accurate.

ISO is an insurance advisory organization providing insurers with a variety of underwriting and rating services. It performs PPC evaluations on behalf of the property insurance industry and considers the process and outcome of the PPC evaluation as a proprietary work product. To obtain the details for the communities in question, please contact the respective agency of the city or town in question. They can provide that information to you, if they choose to do so."
