Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Statement

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport takes the security of its travelers, employees and visitors seriously.  We partner continuously with law enforcement, the TSA and other federal agencies to ensure the ongoing safety of the public.

As part of our TSA-approved multi-layered security plan, airline and airport employees submit to rigorous screening before access credentials are granted.  Further vetting occurs for those employees along with random checks by TSA officers for employees within secured areas of the airport.  In the instance of the airline employee who attempted to illegally smuggle contraband, a sting operation was conducted that resulted in an arrest and criminal prosecution is currently underway.
