Georgia cheerleading coach arrested on child sex crime charges

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. — A north Georgia cheerleading coach has been arrested and charged with child molestation.

Catoosa County deputies say James Everett Sisson, 49, was arrested after authorities began investigating allegations that he had inappropriate contact with an underage girl while he worked as a cheerleading coach at Culprit Athletics.

Investigators say Sisson is known for working with young students to coach them with cheerleading and tumbling exercises.

Police say he has been affiliated with Culprit Athletics and Hot Shots, which was formerly known as Crush.

Authorities have also clarified that Sisson is not an employee of Catoosa County Schools.
