Deputies: Halloween Masked Robbers Steal Cash, Pop Tarts

LITHIA SPRINGS, Ga. — Three people in Halloween masks robbed a Lithia Springs gas station on Sunday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the robbers arrived at a Marathon gas station on Lee Road around 3 a.m. They were cloaked in black hooded sweatshirts, gloves and Halloween masks, deputies said. They said two of the robbers were armed.

They got away with a cash drawer and a bunch of Pop Tarts, deputies said. They said the robbers ran from the store toward a wooded area and fell down an embankment.

A K-9 led deputies to the embankment, where they found most of the stolen money, Pop Tarts and masks in the grass. Deputies said the dog lost the robbers' scents at a nearby church parking lot.

Anyone who saw a suspicious car in that lot overnight is asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
