Construction worker beams with $150K Fantasy 5 win

ATLANTA — A lucky construction worker is all smiles from winning a plush prize playing the Georgia Lottery. Terry Baker, 52, matched all five winning numbers from the June 1 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $150,000 jackpot prize.

A resident of Glenwood, Ala., Baker purchased his lucky Quik Pik ticket at Yogi Food Mart, 763 U.S. Highway 82 in Georgetown.

Winning numbers from the June 1 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 9-16-23-35-37.

Baker discovered his win while on the Georgia Lottery’s website.

“I didn’t expect to see it,” he said. “I checked it two or three times.”

Feeling great over his lottery win, Baker and his wife, Bonnie, intend to purchase a home on a lake.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
