• 12-year-old runaway found safe in Cherokee County


    CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says a young runaway has been found safe. 

    The Sheriff's Office says Tyler Bonds ran away from his home on Gold Shore Lane in the Bridgemill subdivision Tuesday night.

    Deputies say the boy was found hiding under a blanket in the corner of his bedroom. They believe he had been there for about an hour. He is facing juvenile charges. 

    According to the Sheriff's office, the cost of the search is going to be in the thousands and the department is already in a budget crunch.
