ATLANTA WEATHER:Chances For Showers, T-Storms

ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist David Chandley has been tracking rain moving across the country. He said parts of Georgia could see rain and thunderstorms.

"Our wind flow this weekend will be right off the Gulf of Mexico, so moisture and temperature will be on the increase," Chandley said.

There will be a few showers overnight, he said, and then showers and thunderstorms will be widely scattered for both Saturday and Sunday.

"This is not a washout for metro Atlanta, there will be plenty of dry hours for your outdoor plans," Chandley said.

The heaviest concentration for rain will be in northwest Georgia, and Metro Atlanta could see heavy rain on Monday with 1-2 inches expected, Chandley said.
