Atlanta postal worker taps $400K prize in Clayton County

ATLANTA — Anthony King of Atlanta has landed a $400,000 top prize playing the Georgia Lottery instant game $20 Million Blowout.

King, a postal worker, purchased his winning ticket at Quick and Cheap Food Mart, 2111 Rex Road in Lake City.

“I was light-headed and dizzy,” said King, 43, after scratching his ticket.

The lucky winner claimed his prize March 9 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

“All of my dreams have come true,” King said of the day he purchased his winning ticket.

He intends to purchase a new home with his winnings.

“I can live comfortably,” King shared. “I feel pretty good now.”

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
