Atlanta Companies Donate Big For Quake Relief

ATLANTA — Two of Atlanta's best known companies are donating $1 million dollars each in cash and services to the relief effort in earthquake-crippled Haiti.

The donations are coming from UPS and Coca-Cola.

Atlanta-based shipping giant UPS said Wednesday the donation through its charitable arm, The UPS Foundation, consists of $500,000 in cash and up to $500,000 of services for the shipment of needed supplies.

The funds will be divided between various relief organizations, including the American Red Cross and UNICEF.

Earlier Wednesday, automaker General Motors announced a $100,000 donation through its charitable arm to the relief effort.
