Accused Cop Killer Taken To Hospital

ATLANTA — The man accused of killing a Chattahoochee Hills police officer was taken to a hospital as a precaution after falling ill, authorities said.

"Robert Cook became ill at the Fulton County Jail on Feb. 26 and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for further treatment and observation," Fulton County Sheriff's Public Affairs Officer Tracy Flanagan said in an e-mail sent to Channel 2 Action News.

While in jail, Cook had been under constant observation by medical staff, and supervision by SORT (Special Operations Response Team).

Cook, 44, is accused of murdering Chattahoochee Hill Police Lt. Michael Vogt on Feb. 15.

Arrest Made In Cop Killing

On Feb. 17, Cook was charged with murder, aggravated assault on a police officer, and possession of a firearm. Cook was denied bond and is scheduled to have a preliminary bond hearing March 4.
