7 shocked by lightning in Cobb County

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Construction workers are recovering after being shocked by lightning that hit a house they were working on Friday.

Workers said the crew had no idea that a storm was on the way to the construction site in Cobb County.

The seven workers went into the Powder Springs home when the storm hit, but then lightning struck the house’s frame.

They said the pain was instant and all seven were hit. Some were swept off their feet.

The three most seriously hit were taken to the hospital.

Some had headaches, others hand pains, but all are OK.

One man said he learned to head inside at the first sign of storms when working after this incident. He said there was no white flash or sign to know it was coming before the lightning struck.
