$400K prize beefs up excitement in Conyers

ATLANTA — One lucky Conyers man has won a plate-filling prize from the Georgia Lottery. David Orr of Conyers won a $400,000 prize playing the new instant game Cash Clover.

The 21-year-old works in the kitchen of a steakhouse. He received his winning ticket from his supervisor, who purchased it at Monroe Food Mart, 215 Highway 138 in Monroe.

“I’m grateful. I can go to college now,” said Orr, who anticipates studying computer science and programming.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
