The crash happened on Ozora Church Road in Walton County near the Gwinnett County line Monday.

GSP officials said 22-year-old Jacob Reagan was driving a white Pontiac on the wrong side of the road and crashed head-on into a Ford sport utility vehicle carrying a family of four.

Resident Doug Strickland was having dinner when he heard a loud noise outside.

"It sound like a bomb went off," he told Channel 2's Eric Philips.

Reagan and a 20-year-old passenger, Rajshed Tersaud, were killed in the crash, GSP officials said. Another passenger was hospitalized in serious condition, GSP trooper Cal Barton told Philips.

Philips was at the scene as authorities navigated the mangled mess of cars. Shortly after, one of the victim's girlfriends showed up to receive the news. She collapsed in the middle of the street and broke down in tears as she learned of her loved one's passing.

Barton said no one in the Pontiac was wearing a seat belt. Deputies said there were beer cans in the car, but it was undetermined whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

"There's a smell, but we can't really say for sure at this time," Barton said.

The family in the Ford was also taken to an area hospital. Neighbors arrived to remove their belongings from the car. They said the family looked OK.
