Alive in Roswell (monthly family festival) --- Sept. 21

Come out to Roswell for an evening of fun with your family. Alive in Roswell is a free festival that takes place the third Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Historic Canton Street and Historic Roswell Square. The festival features live bands, food trucks, kids games, face painting and balloons. Plus, take time to visit different businesses, venues and restaurants.

Sip and Sounds concert Series --- Sept. 21

Bring your own lawn chairs, food and beverages and enjoy Clayton County’s “Sips and Sounds” concert series featuring multiple live bands and special guests. This week’s free concert will feature Erica Dawson and 911 Band.

Heritage Sandy Springs Outdoors Club --- Sept. 22-23

The HSSOC provides residents and visitors the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the city parks. Each week, the club hosts a hike on Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The hikes for this weekend will be held at Heritage Sandy Springs on Friday and Morgan Falls Saturday morning.

Beatles, Burgers and Beer at Venkman’s --- Sept. 22

What’s better than burgers, beer and the Beatles on a Friday night? Make your way to Venkman’s to witness all of your favorite Beatles movies on silent as your favorite Beatles songs play alongside. While the movies and music are free, the burgers with Venkman’s famous fries are $10.

Free museum day (statewide) --- Sept. 23

If you are looking for the perfect day to make a trip to the museum, this Saturday is not a bad day to go. Take advantage of the opportunity to get a free ticket for two people to experience and witness one of 20 Georgia museums for free. Check out the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum; the Booth Western, in Cartersville; the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Atlanta; or any of the other participating museums. But first, you have to download the ticket.

Crayon Drawing Request Night with DJ Raetone at Venkman’s --- Sept. 23

Share your drawing skills and hear your favorite tunes at this free family-friendly event at Venkman’s Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Draw your favorite song and see your drawing on the big screen if DJ RaeTone picks your song. Kids 10 and under eat free from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

East Atlanta Strut --- Sept. 23

Live music and comedy are just two things you don’t want to miss in this year’s East Atlanta Strut. The free, one-day extravaganza will also include a parade, an artists market, kids village and tasty food vendors. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the East Atlanta Village, at the intersection of Flat Shoals and Glenwood avenues.

Pirate Palooza --- Sept. 23

The pubcrawl is the ultimate inland meeting of pirates, buccaneers, rascals, rogues, scoundrels, ruffians and scalawags this side of the bounding main. It’s an invasion, a sack, a pub crawl and a great way to meet other enthusiasts of the piratical arts ending in a fantastic pub sing starring some of the most popular renfest bands of our time!

Decatur Hipster Yard Sale --- Sept. 23

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to shop from 60 of the best vendors in Atlanta for things like vintage clothes, vinyl records, art, esoteric ephemera, handcrafted goods, and artisanal delights. Then, while you are shopping, enjoy some free food and live music at Chapel Hill Park.

Douglasville September Saturdays Festival --- Sept. 23

Looking for fun for everyone? The September Saturdays festival provides fun and fellowship for everyone. With two chances in the month of September to experience the festival, come out and shop from over 100 vendors, listen to choral concerts and let your kids enjoy inflatables and the kids play area. Plus, enjoy free health and vision tests. The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each Saturday. The last September festival will be held on Sept. 30.

Duluth Fall Festival Concert (featuring Departure-a Journey Tribute Band) --- Sept. 23

Heading to Duluth this Saturday? If you are, make your way downtown for the 2017 Duluth fall festival concert.  The concert features an opening act with Davin McCoy and the feature act by Departure. The opening act starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by the feature act at 8 p.m. The event will take place on Saturday at the Duluth Festival Center.

32nd Annual Sandy Springs Festival --- Sept. 23-24

Take advantage of two days of art, live music, cultural performances, a pet parade, festival foods and more at the annual Sandy Springs festival. Experience the fun and give back in the process. The festival serves as the primary fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs, a nonprofit organization that saved the original “sandy springs.” Just in case you did not know, this year’s festival is the first time the event is free of charge. Don’t miss out.

Sunset Sessions at Piedmont Park --- Sept. 24

Summer is almost over, and fall is approaching. Don’t let summer end without enjoying a free live music series and watching the sunset behind the Atlanta skyline. Join Ron Gallo, Gringo Star and Shantih Shantih at Park Tavern.

Free food for kids --- Select restaurants

Captain D's: Get two free children's meals with each adult meal purchased on Thursday of each week.

Chick-fil-A: Bring your child to Chick-fil-A on Tuesday of each week to get a free four- or six-piece chicken nugget meal with waffle potato fries and a drink.

Golden Corral: Children 10 and under can eat for free from the children's buffet, which includes vegetables, sides, meats and dessert.
