Monarchs Weather Late Atlanta Rally

Sacramento, CA -- (Sports Network) - The Sacramento Monarchs bench, led by Crystal Kelly's 15 points, combined for 33 in a 77-73 victory over the Atlanta Dream.Nicole Powell was 0-for-6 from 3-point range, but narrowly missed a double- double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Kara Lawson had 12 points, while Rebekkah Brunson was the only other Sacramento starter in double digits with 10 points, as the Monarchs won their third consecutive game. Kristin Haynie led the Dream with 12 points off the bench while Ivory Latta and Betty Lennox both scored 11. Despite the loss, Atlanta is 3-3 in its last six after starting the season with a WNBA-record 17 consecutive losses. Leading by 16 after three quarters, the Monarchs held off a late Atlanta rally as the Dream outscored Sacramento 32-20 in the fourth quarter.
