I get emails like this all the time.

“How can a guy, who went to Kansas and worked in Oklahoma and Florida, be such a UGA homer?”

“Last night during your 6 pm sportscast, you led with Georgia Tech, but the video clip was shorter than the one of Georgia that followed.”

“WSB is the only TV station I watch, but no longer, your bias towards Georgia is too much too handle.” (NOTE: I have actually received this email from the same person for over three years, but somehow, he continues to watch)

Does WSB or any other  outlet slant the news in favor of a specific program or team? Of course not.

Do we want Georgia to win? 100% of the time.

As do we want Georgia Tech, the Falcons, Braves and Hawks. It is great for business. The more those in Atlanta talk about sports, the more sports become relevant in our community.

Now, while I know I only hear from the vocal minority, the real question is why are fans not going out and supporting the Yellow Jackets?

Two times over the last three weeks, the top two figures in their athletic department have nearly begged for fans to show up and support their team.

Before the top-25 matchup against then-undefeated North Carolina, athletics director Dan Radakovich said, "When you have empty seats, everyone has a great idea about moving forward to get those seats filled," Radakovich said. "We have a lot of great history and tradition at Georgia Tech. It's a fun atmosphere to come out and watch a college football game."

On Tuesday, head coach Paul Johnson offered this plea. “[We] have a chance to play in front of our fans and students. Hopefully we can get the students out there loud this week. We need them. Big game, conference game at home.”

In three home games this season, the Yellow Jackets have failed to have one sellout.

There were 12,868 empty seats against West Carolina. 12,975 against Kansas and some 8200 no-shows vs 25th ranked North Carolina.

Georgia (0-2 at the time) had over 91,000 for their home game against Coastal Carolina.

Fans support winning teams. Check! Tech is now ranked 13th nationally and at 5 and 0, is off to their best start in over two decades.

Fans like offense. Check! Tech is putting a half a hundred on the board every time the step on the field.

Clemson is currently ranked eighth in the country and there are still tickets available for this game, a game that could decide the ACC regular season title.

Stop emailing me and start emailing your friends to show up at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

CPJ needs you and I need to email back all of those Georgia fans who say I spend too much time reporting on a Yellow Jacket team no one cares about.
