Ready Georgia-Griffin after celebrating the holiday weekend and all the gorgeous weather, it's hard to think about hurricanes, tornados, floods and other severe weather. But People 2 People producers met a Spalding County woman who insists, this is exactly the time to think about it, plan for it and stay prepared. Ready Georgia is a statewide campaign supported by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) aimed at motivating Georgians to take action to prepare for a disaster. GEMA is the state agency that is responsible for emergency mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and special events. Last year nearly 3,000 people went to the Ready Georgia website, created their own profile and registered to win a free NOAA weather radio. Help for Homwowners 2012 a number of representatives from the United States Treasury, the Department of Housing and Urban Development as well as couselors and lenders will spend next weekend with hundreds of struggling homeowners, eager to keep their biggest investment. Help for Homeowners is Friday, June 1, 2012 from 1pm-8pm at the Georgia International Convention Center. Visist the website for more information.

PBTF Ride for Kids 2012 childhood brain cancer is a disease that affects hundreds of children in Georgia. In fact, it's one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.
