Get ready leaf watchers, your time is fast approaching. North Georgia and Metro Atlanta is blessed to have a wide variety of trees which offers a wide variety of color during the Fall season. While its early, some trees are beginning to change. The Georgia Forestry Commission reports color with the dogwoods and sugar maples in NW Georgia, and in the NE mountains, they report about 25% color change. The poplars are shading yellow, and the dogwoods are turning red.

This weekend the hot spot will be Rabun County, check out the reports from Georgia State Parks here: GA State Parks

For planning purposes, the peak leaf color weeks are late October and early November.
