Plenty going on this week and into the weekend. First off, the severe weather of this week is a reminder that we do have Fall severe weather season in Georgia. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado rolled across Harris county on Wednesday afternoon. Winds up to 125 mph did major damage to the high school and other structures. Thankfully no injuries with that storm.
Our weather this weekend looks a bit unsettled with that tricky east wind again. The low level flow off the Atlantic is always a concern and has potential for a forecast bust. Some models suggest sunny to partly cloudy and upper 50s, others call for clouds, possible drizzle and highs only in the 40s. Those scenarios are vastly different if you are sitting out at a ballgame like over in Athens. Truthfully, we will not a firm grasp on the forecast until it is happening. I do see much warmer weather by Sunday and into next week.
On a personal note, my father-in-law passed away earlier this week. Donn Henson of Toccoa was a long time car salesman in NE Georgia and carved out a nice living after a stint in the U.S. Navy. The 21 gun salute, playing of Taps, and folding of the flag at the graveside service was a wonderful way to button up his life. Peace.
