Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls said Sunday evening could still hold the potential for some strong, severe storms mixed in with the widespread rain.

What Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking:

  • Widespread rain, potential for isolated strong storms on Stormtracker 2HD
  • Where the risk for damaging wind & hail is highest
  • Cold air behind the cold front and how long it lasts

"Risks include damaging wind and hail," Walls said.

Walls advises that heavy rain in stronger thunderstorms could lead to some flash flooding.

"Remember, however, that with the ongoing drought, we need the rain," Walls said.

There is also the potential for strong storms with damaging winds and small hail.

Wrap-around moisture will trigger sprinkles and a few showers during the Monday morning commute and through the day, but will be clearing Monday night.

Temperatures in the 80s will return by Wednesday.
