ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 said Wednesday is another tropical-feeling day, with showers possible in some areas throughout the day.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said not everyone will see rain, but those who do will possibly see heavy downpours with wind and lightning.

"A lot of cloud cover will stick around for most of the day," Nitz said.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls pulled rainfall data for the last week and found Douglasville saw more than 9 inches -- and Severe Weather Team 2 said the rain isn't over.

Nitz predicts multiple inches of rain across the state for Memorial Day weekend.
Northeast Georgia could see 3 to 5 inches over the weekend and Florida’s panhandle beaches could see up to 10 inches.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns says this weekend will be a real soaker for the southeast. He said it looks like above average rain will continue through early June.
The probability of a tropical depression developing in the Gulf of Mexico this weekend has been raised to 60%.

The chance of rain remains at 60 percent Friday and will increase to 70 percent for Saturday and Sunday.
