From Meteorologist Karen MintonA High Wind Warning continues through 7 pm today for the north Georgia Mountains. Expect sustained winds 25-35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. A wind advisory is in effect until 7 am Thursday morning for NW winds 20-30 mph with gusts in excess of 40 mph. The strong winds will continue until later tonight when the strong Canadian high presssure moves east, and the pressure gradient relaxes. Temperatures will be cold today, not getting out of the 40s. The wind will make it feel much colder today. Windchlls will be in the teens and single digits. You may want to leave your pets inside today. The strong winds today can be a hazard while driving, and to weakend trees.Today: Turning mostly sunny. Windy, NAW 20-30 mph, gusts to 45 mph. Wind Advisory metro, High Wind Warning in the northeast Georgia mountains. Windchills near ten degrees.
