A winter weather disturbance will move south from Montana and into Southeastern Idaho Friday night and Saturday. Most of the precipitation is expected to remain on the east side of the Continental Divide. However, 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected over the Eastern Highlands from about Island Park south to about Soda Springs and Geneva. In the Snake Plain, little or no accumulation is expected, but winds will be brisk and temperatures limited to the 30s, especially for areas north of Atomic City and Idaho Falls. Further west in the Central Mountains, snow accumulation of up to 2 inches is expected mostly for the mountains above 7500 feet elevation. If you are traveling or headed into the back country, stay current on the weather situation and prepare for cold and windy conditions. $$
