Code Red Smog Alert Issued For Atlanta

Air Quality Will Be Unhealthy

The metro Atlanta area is under a code red smog alert.

That means the air quality is expected to be unhealthy for everyone on Wednesday.

People are urged to limit outdoor exposure. People with respiratory programs are advised not to go outside.

The National Weather Service says highs should be in the low to mid-90s.

Tonight: a slight chance of showers in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Lows in the mid 40s. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Sunday: showers. Highs in the upper 40s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent.
